Manish Sisodia Appeals to AAP Workers to Join Relief Efforts After Ahmedabad Air India Crash

In the aftermath of the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia has called on local party workers to actively participate in relief and rescue efforts. Taking to social media, Sisodia urged AAP volunteers to collaborate with the administration to provide medical support to the injured and assistance to affected families.

“An appeal is made to all the local workers of the party to promptly engage in relief and rescue operations,” Sisodia wrote in a post on X. “In collaboration with the administration, provide all necessary assistance, whether it is providing medical facilities to the injured or giving support to the affected families.”

Expressing deep sorrow, Sisodia added, “Heartbreaking news from Ahmedabad. A passenger aircraft has crashed near a residential area during takeoff. Images of smoke and devastation are deeply disturbing. My prayers are for the safety of all the passengers. May God give strength to the affected families.”

AAP MP Raghav Chadha also reacted to the incident, stating, “Utterly shocked and deeply saddened by the news of an Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad with several passengers onboard. Praying for everyone’s safety.”

The crash involved Air India Flight AI-171, a Boeing 787 aircraft bound for London’s Gatwick Airport, which crashed shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The flight was carrying 230 passengers and 12 crew members. According to DGCA sources, the aircraft issued a MAYDAY call moments after takeoff at 1:39 PM IST, before losing contact and crashing just beyond the airport perimeter.

In response to the incident, three NDRF teams from Gandhinagar and three from Vadodara have been deployed to the crash site. Fire tenders and emergency personnel continue to manage rescue efforts amid rising smoke and debris.

Union Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu expressed grief over the tragedy and assured that all emergency protocols are being followed. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also spoken with Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and other top officials, promising full central government support for rescue and relief operations.

CM Patel has directed officials to establish a green corridor for swift medical evacuation of the injured and has prioritized immediate hospital treatment and coordination at all administrative levels.
